About Plain Margin
Plain Margin is an independent business and finance publication built on one editorial belief: finance is not complicated so much as it is badly explained. Markets, monetary policy, corporate accounting, and household money decisions all run on a small number of ideas — and those ideas can be written in plain English without losing their precision.
The site has two parts. The Ledger is a daily set of figures — exchange rates, U.S. public debt, Treasury rates — drawn directly from official sources (the European Central Bank and the U.S. Treasury) and stated without spin. The library is a growing collection of evergreen explainers across four sections: Markets, Economy, Business, and Personal Finance.
What we don't do
We do not publish price predictions, stock picks, or trading signals. We do not accept payment for coverage. Nothing here is investment, legal, or tax advice; it is education, written for adults who want to understand how the machine works before deciding what to do with their own money.
